AMETEK Inc. Reynosa site seeks an Automation Engineer to design, program, and sustain automated manufacturing systems across plating, machine shop, and GTMS processes.

You will advance automation maturity, resolve complex issues, and partner with engineering, operations, maintenance, and vendors to deliver robust manufacturing solutions. You will lead PLC-based controls, optimize processes, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement and cost reduction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong PLC programming experience.
• Know-how of Allen Bradley PLC (Studio 5000) & LabVIEW; Python.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program and maintain PLC-based automation systems across plating lines, machine shop, and GTMS processes.
• Optimize controls to improve yield, cycle times, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot PLC, motion control, sensors, drives, and integrations to minimize downtime.
• Manage recipe parameters and validate outputs against specs.
• Lead automation projects including GTMS processes and equipment commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, vendors, and teams on upgrades.
• Champion automation initiatives and apply lean methods to reduce costs and manual work.
• Create SOPs, work instructions, and documentation for all systems.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across automated systems.
