Job summary

Flex Ltd in Mexico is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives in manufacturing environments. You will drive concept-to-implementation projects, integrating PLCs, robotics, AMRs and Cobots into production lines.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming, electrical/electronic system knowledge, CAD proficiency and a strong focus on process improvements, quality and safety. Collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level engineering degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead automation projects from concept to implementation in manufacturing.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Develop and integrate PLC-controlled systems, robotics, AMRs, and Cobots into production processes.
Design and implement pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical automation solutions.
Create connections between inputs, controllers, sensors and outputs.
Develop tests, simulations and validations for system performance.
Design fixtures, gages and poka-yoke solutions to improve process capability.
Monitor automation systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot equipment and processes using root cause analysis.
Manage safety systems, motor controls, drives and HMIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Maintain BoMs, specs, work instructions and drawings.
