Job summary

Advanced Energy in Mexicali, Mexico is seeking an Automation Maintenance Sr. Engineer to supervise and optimize the maintenance of electrical, control, robot, automation and instrumentation systems within production.

You will lead automation projects, design preventive maintenance routines, and supervise staff to meet quality, safety and efficiency goals. The role requires strong experience in PLCs, robotics, and lean manufacturing, with a focus on TPM and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years in the position or similar.
Advanced expertise in electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control.
Reading plans or diagrams of control, force and electronics.
Advanced knowledge in PLCs and their programming.
Programming robots of 6 axes or more.

Responsibilities

Design and manage machinery, equipment or automatic systems involved in the production process.
Improve efficiency, quality and operating costs through automation projects.
Design preventive maintenance routines for control, instrumentation and automation equipment.
Integrate software and hardware to automate processes.
Collaborate on new projects with different departments.
Develop user manuals and maintain automation equipment.
Provide training in control, instrumentation and automation.
Support TPM execution and root cause analysis of failures.
Manage equipment and tools in control and automation.
Lead improvement projects in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
Design tools and systems to improve productivity and error-proofing (Poka Yoke).
Register spare parts for critical equipment.
Assist technical staff in solving control problems.
Monitor equipment compliance with specs and coordinate set-up.
Analyze production schedule to plan preventive/corrective maintenance.
Establish and adjust processes to meet production needs.
Drive lean manufacturing improvements and report department activities.
Maintain department work instructions.
Address staff conflicts and staff development.
Keep work areas clean.
