Job summary

TE Connectivity Corporation in Mexico is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of automated solutions for assembly and cable operations.

You will drive productivity, quality, and safety by applying controls engineering, robotics, machine vision, and Kaizen methodologies across shifts, collaborating with manufacturing and maintenance teams to ensure on-time project delivery and robust equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of experience in automation engineering or similar manufacturing role.
• Experience leading automation projects from concept to production implementation.
• Experience with automatic and semi-automatic equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from concept, quotation, and business justification through programming, commissioning, validation, and production release.
• Support development, integration, troubleshooting, and validation of automated wire-processing equipment.
• Drive improvements in cycle-time, scrap reduction, and OEE for cable manufacturing operations.
• Establish process standards and best practices for automated wire harness and cable assembly equipment.
• Develop project scopes, technical specs, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
• Provide technical guidance to automation engineers and technicians.
• Lead Kaizen, 5S, equipment standardization, and continuous improvement activities.
