Job summary

PALO IT is seeking a Tech Lead to oversee backend and cloud architecture. The role involves leading engineering teams, ensuring platform robustness, and driving high-availability solutions. The position is based in CDMX or Bogota with a hybrid work model.

The candidate should have at least 7 years of backend experience with Ruby on Rails, strong cloud and Kubernetes experience, and familiarity with AI tooling such as Vertex AI and Gemini API.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience with Ruby & Rails.
• Strong PostgreSQL and Redis (caching, queues, in-memory storage) expertise.
• Proven design of REST APIs with proper documentation.
• Cloud architecture experience (Google Cloud) and Kubernetes (GKE) for deployment and scaling.
• Familiarity with AI tooling (Vertex AI, Gemini API) and agentic frameworks (RAG, observability, logs).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of enterprise-grade availability, disaster recovery and observability.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead backend cloud solutions using Ruby on Rails and cloud services.
• Lead engineering teams, mentoring and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Oversee API integrations, including WhatsApp Cloud API and Conversions API.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud, leveraging Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
• Drive enterprise solutions focusing on high availability, disaster recovery and cost optimization.
