Job summary

Thomson Reuters is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Litigation Drafting team. You will build AI-driven backend features, scale real-time AI interactions, and contribute to agentic workflows, with opportunities to gain front-end experience on the path to full-stack development.

The role emphasizes ownership, rapid learning, and delivery in a fast-paced environment. A hybrid work model is offered, with strong emphasis on collaboration across product, design, and Labs teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Working knowledge of Python and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• RESTful API design, distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent debugging skills and delivering production-ready, reliable systems.
• Strong cross-functional communication in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and ship something you taught yourself.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI Agentic features end to end from requirements to production.
• Design and build backend services using Python, FastAPI and PostgreSQL for real-time AI interactions.
• Productionize AI capabilities by integrating with LLM providers and strengthening CI/CD pipelines.
• Use AI tooling to translate business requirements into AI-enabled solutions.
• Diagnose, read unfamiliar code, troubleshoot production behavior, and fix issues.
• Collaborate across Product, Design and Labs teams and contribute to testing strategies.
• Share learnings and help grow a learning culture within the team.
