Job summary
Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Software Engineer AI (Staff Engineer AI) to join the CoCounsel team in a hybrid role in Mexico City. You will guide the creation of agentic AI features for legal professionals, directing front- and back-end engineers to deliver scalable, production-grade capabilities.
You will architect AI-powered workflows, orchestrate LLM integrations, and ensure robust testing, security, and observability.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering with 2+ years in technical leadership
- 3+ years building scalable cloud applications and AI-enabled products
- Strong proficiency in Python and backend services
- Experience delivering production AI systems in enterprise environments
Responsibilities
- Build and architect AI Agentic driven systems with real-time interactions
- Lead technical strategy and oversee implementation and rollout practices
- Provide senior technical leadership; mentor engineers
- Ensure quality, security, and observability for AI systems
- Collaborate with Labs, product, and design teams to deliver scalable features
- Integrate with major LLM providers and strengthen CI/CD pipelines
