Job summary

Thomson Reuters is hiring a Software Engineer for the Litigation Drafting team to build AI-powered back-end features. The role emphasizes rapid ownership, scalable backend work with Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL, and opportunities to gain front-end exposure for full-stack growth.

You will work with AI tooling, integrate with LLM providers, and contribute to CI/CD and observability, while collaborating across Product, Design and Labs teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Backend skills in Python and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Strong debugging ability and production-ready mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and cross-functional communication.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly with self-taught examples.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL for real-time AI interactions.
• Integrate with LLM providers and implement reliable orchestration and observability.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation for cloud-native workflows.
• Apply AI tooling to accelerate feature delivery and code quality.
• Read and troubleshoot unfamiliar code; diagnose root causes in production.
• Contribute to automated testing strategies and maintain test coverage.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Labs teams on design discussions.
• Mentor teammates and share learnings to foster a learning culture.
