A consulting firm in Naples, Italy is seeking a Technician (Crypto Custodian) to manage crypto key generation and distribution for NATO. Candidates should have extensive knowledge in networking technologies and COMSEC principles. Responsibilities include managing the central distribution of electronic keys and performing encryption setups for NATO clients. High proficiency in English is required.

• Very good knowledge of modern communication and Internet Protocol (IP) networking technologies.
• Experience and good knowledge of COMSEC principles and practices.
• Extensive experience in risk analysis and implementation of INFOSEC measures.
• Good experience with the latest Virtualization Technologies.
• Extensive experience in operating systems backup and restore.
• Knowledge of CRYPTO accounting and distribution.
• Working knowledge of communications systems operation.

Mansioni

• Generate Crypto keys on the Key Generation Centre (KGC).
• Perform duties as Central Key Distribution Authority.
• Distribute electronic keys for NATO and National Distribution Agencies.
• Conduct inventories and destructions of Crypto material.
• Perform encryption and setup of data at rest for NATO-wide customers.

Experience and Education

• Very good knowledge of modern communication and Internet Protocol (IP) networking technologies and systems, including security aspects
• Experience and good knowledge of COMSEC principles and practices, including physical security standards related to COMSEC
• Extensive experience in risk analysis and the implementation and integration of INFOSEC protective measures
• Good experience with the latest Virtualization Technologies
• Extensive experience in operating systems backup and restore
• Knowledge of CRYPTO accounting and distribution
• Working knowledge of communications systems operation and troubleshooting techniques
• Good understanding of constraints related to IT systems

Duties / Role

• Generate Crypto keys on the Key Generation Centre (KGC)
• Perform duties as Central Key Distribution Authority
• Responsible for the central distribution of electronic keys for NATO, ACO, ACT Crypto accounts, and National Distribution Agencies (NDAs)
• Receive electronic keys from the DACAN Electronic Key Management System (DEKMS) and the DACAN Key Management Infrastructure (DKMI)
• Download and upload electronic keys in the NATO Electronic Key Management System (NEKMS)
• Conduct inventories and destructions of Crypto material in his Crypto Account
• Issue or transfer crypto material as directed by the Controlling Authority to authorized COMSEC accounts (including sub-accounts) or individual users, verifying clearance levels for classified materials
• Perform encryption and setup of data at rest for NATO-wide customers
