Job summary

Saipem is hiring a Senior Contract Manager in Milan to provide strategic contractual leadership across major international opportunities and projects. You will report to the Head of Contract Management and drive commercial risk management from tender through project execution.

Responsibilities include defining strategies, leading negotiations with clients and partners, advising management, and supporting claims and dispute resolution.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience in Contract Management in international projects.
• Fluent English; fluent French.
• Strong knowledge of international contracting and risk management.
• Proven experience in claims management and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex negotiations with clients, JV/consortium partners, and key suppliers during bidding and execution.
• Advise senior management on significant contractual matters and risk mitigation.

Purpose of the position: As As Senior Contract Manager, you will report to the Head of Contract Management and be part of the Commercial & Contract Management Function.

In this role, you will provide strategic contractual leadership on major international opportunities and projects, supporting senior management in commercial decision-making and ensuring the effective management of contractual and commercial risks throughout the tendering and project execution phases.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Define and implement contractual strategies for major tenders, projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management principles.
• Lead complex contractual and commercial negotiations with Clients, Joint Venture and Consortium Partners, and key Suppliers during both bidding and execution phases.
• Advise senior management on significant contractual matters, commercial opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support claims management, dispute resolution activities and strategic contractual decisions during project execution, safeguarding company interests.
• Promote contractual best practices across the organization, mentoring Contract Management personnel and contributing to the development of contractual competencies.

What are we looking for?

Education:

Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or equivalent disciplines.

Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in Contract Management, gained within engineering, construction, energy, infrastructure or comparable international project environments.

Languages

• Fluent English
• Fluent in French

Technical/IT Skills

• Advanced knowledge of contract management principles and international contracting practices.
• Strong expertise in contractual risk assessment and mitigation.
• Proven experience in claims management and dispute resolution.
• Solid understanding of commercial management processes in complex international projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
