Overview

Fater is an Italian company, a 50 / 50 joint venture between Procter & Gamble and Angelini Industries. It manufactures and distributes fabric and home care cleaning products under the Ace and Neoblanc brands in 37 countries across Western, Central, and Eastern Europe. In Italy, since the 1960s, it has expanded the market for personal absorbent products, and today it manufactures and sells Pampers, Lines, Lines Specialist, and Tampax branded products for the Italian market. Fater is a dynamic company that invests around 4% of its annual revenue in innovation. Its headquarters are located in Pescara, with production facilities in Pescara and Campochiaro (CB) in Italy, and abroad in Porto, Portugal, and Gebze, Turkey.

The challenge

To strengthen our Personal Care Research & Development team, we are seeking an experienced Product Development Specialist with a proven background in personal care product innovation. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years’ experience in cosmetic or dermocosmetic R&D (deodorants strongly preferred), a strong passion for innovation, excellent teamwork skills, and a keen interest in leveraging digital tools and Artificial Intelligence in research.

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize new formulations in line with Fater standards and industry regulations
  • Actively research new raw materials and technologies for Personal Care products
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory, Production, and Quality teams throughout the product development cycle
  • Integrate AI tools into the formulation process (e.g., data analysis, ingredient prediction, simulations)
  • Oversee stability and performance testing, and prepare technical documentation
  • Monitor trends and innovations in the sector to propose distinctive and sustainable solutions

What you need to succeed

  • Degree in Chemistry, CTF, Biotechnology, or related fields
  • Extensive (10+ years) experience in cosmetic formulation for Personal Care (deodorants strongly preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of functional ingredients, emulsifiers, actives, and preservatives
  • Strong familiarity with cosmetic regulations (Reg. EC 1223 / 2009 and related)
  • Creative mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Willingness to use or learn AI tools applied to formulation
