Seqwater in Australia is seeking a Senior Lead Water Security Planning professional to lead the development and delivery of long-term water security, drought preparedness and resilience strategies ensuring reliable, safe water supply for communities. You will provide strategic planning advice and guide evidence-based decision making.

Competenze

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Water Resources, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in strategic water planning, water security, drought management or water resource management within a complex or regulated environment.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering long-term water planning programs and strategies.
• Strong knowledge of water security frameworks, sustainability principles, regulatory requirements and integrated water management approaches.
• Proven ability to analyse complex technical, environmental and operational information, and provide strategic advice to support decision-making and stakeholder outcomes.

About Your Opportunity

In the Lead Water Security Planning position, you will lead the development and delivery of water security, drought preparedness and sustainability strategies that ensure reliable, resilient and safe water supply outcomes for the community. You will provide strategic planning advice, guide evidence-based decision making, and lead a high-performing team to support regulatory compliance, organisational objectives and long-term water supply needs. Success in this role will be measured by the delivery of robust water security and sustainability plans that strengthen organisational resilience and prepare the business for future water challenges.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of long-term water security, drought preparedness and resilience strategies.
• Ensure compliance with Water Security Program requirements and broader regulatory obligations.
• Provide expert advice on future water supply challenges, risks and opportunities to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Oversee water sustainability initiatives, including demand management strategies, climate variability assessments and water supply planning.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of water security, sustainability and strategic planning specialists.
• Build strong relationships with government, regulators and key stakeholders to deliver integrated water planning outcomes and support executive decision-making.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Water Resources, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in strategic water planning, water security, drought management or water resource management within a complex or regulated environment.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering long-term water planning programs and strategies.
• Strong knowledge of water security frameworks, sustainability principles, regulatory requirements and integrated water management approaches.
• Proven ability to analyse complex technical, environmental and operational information, and provide strategic advice to support decision-making and stakeholder outcomes.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.
