Seqwater is seeking a Lead Strategic Planning & Policy to shape long-term water planning and policy, guiding investment decisions and community outcomes across South East Queensland. You will lead a team to develop evidence-based strategies and planning frameworks, engaging with government, regulators and delivery partners to ensure defensible recommendations.

Competenze

• Degree in Planning, Policy, Engineering, Science, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Experience in strategic planning and policy, preferably within a regulated utility, infrastructure or public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of long-term strategic planning across demand, climate, growth, policy and regulatory scenarios.
• Capability in translating strategic objectives, service requirements and policy settings into practical planning standards, assumptions and deliverables.
• Experience coordinating planning or policy programs, including work allocation, quality review, stakeholder input and delivery against agreed timeframes.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, government, regulators and delivery partners to support aligned planning and policy outcomes.

About the role

This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality strategic planning and policy outcomes that support Seqwater’s long-term priorities. You will develop trusted strategies, policy advice and planning frameworks that guide future investment decisions, while ensuring recommendations are evidence-based, defensible and able to withstand regulatory and government scrutiny. As a people leader, you will foster an engaged, high-performing team and ensure the effective delivery of services that support stakeholders, customers and the community.

What you'll bring

• Degree qualification in Planning, Policy, Engineering, Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.

• Strong demonstrated professional experience in strategic planning and policy, preferably within a regulated utility, infrastructure or public sector environment.

• Strong understanding of long-term strategic planning across demand, climate, growth, policy and regulatory scenarios.

• Capability in translating strategic objectives, service requirements and policy settings into practical planning standards, assumptions and deliverables.

• Experience coordinating planning or policy programs, including work allocation, quality review, stakeholder input and delivery against agreed timeframes.

• Ability to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, government, regulators and delivery partners to support aligned planning and policy outcomes.
