We are seeking a High Voltage Substation Engineer to enhance NHOA Energy’s High Voltage (HV) Interconnection Facilities engineering capabilities. You will be part of our Engineering team based in Milan.

Your Mission

In this role, you will be the technical reference point for the development and execution of BESS projects with integrated HV substations.

What you will do

• Technical leader of a newly formed HV Substation Task Force to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.
• Define internal processes, standards, and best practices for HV substation design.
• Support tenders and proposals, analyze specifications and lead preliminary designs.
• Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, construction, legal) and grid operators (e.g., Terna, Enel) for connections and permitting.
• Prepare technical specifications, BoMs, and oversee detailed designs (SLDs, protection schemes, primary and secondary layouts, auxiliary systems).
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and support commissioning on site.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in MV/HV substation design (MV up to 36kV, HV ≥150kV).
• Experience with grid operators or EPC contractors and knowledge of CEI/IEC standards.
• Excellent command of Italian and English.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, FATs, and site activities.

Nice-to-Have: Knowledge of energy storage systems, electrical analysis software (ETAP, DIgSILENT), 3D/BIM design, and IEC 61850-based substations.
