Overview

Head of People (Part-Time, Remote – 15–20 hrs/week) $17–$23 per hour (pro-rata, based on a full-time monthly salary of $3,000–$4,000)

Location & Reporting

Location: Eastern Europe (Remote). Reports to: COO & CEO. Department: People & Culture.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Head of People & Performance to own performance, incentives, and people risk across the business. This is a leadership function focused on building a high-performing, accountable team while ensuring people\'s decisions are fair, compliant, and aligned with the long-term interests of the business.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and COO to set clear performance expectations, support difficult conversations, and ensure people\'s decisions are fair, compliant, and well-documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance & accountability – Design and own the company’s performance management framework.
  • Performance & accountability – Establish clear review cycles, expectations, and success metrics.
  • Performance & accountability – Support leaders with underperformance and improvement plans.
  • Performance conversations – Coach leaders through difficult feedback, performance issues, and exits.
  • Performance conversations – Ensure consistency, fairness, and documentation in all people decisions.
  • Incentives & retention – Design short-term and long-term incentive structures.
  • Incentives & retention – Align compensation, bonuses, and progression with performance and business goals.
  • Business protection – Oversee employment risk, compliance, and people-related documentation.
  • Business protection – Partner with legal where needed to mitigate exposure.
  • Business protection – Ensure terminations and disputes are handled cleanly and defensibly.
  • Leadership & org design – Advise leadership on role clarity, team structure, and growth planning.
  • Leadership & org design – Act as a strategic thought partner on people decisions.
Ideal profile
  • 8–12+ years experience in senior HR / People leadership roles.
  • Strong background in performance management and employee relations.
  • Comfortable handling high-stakes, sensitive conversations.
  • Commercially minded and risk-aware.
  • Able to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience supporting international or fully remote teams.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Deel, Workable, Remote.com, or other global HR systems.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or supporting HR or admin team members.
