Job summary

Based in Italy, the position requires daily travel across the national territory and Europe when needed, performing maintenance, installation, and commissioning in accordance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry (mechanical, chemical, plant design, installation).
  • Daily travel: ability to travel within Italy and Europe to customer sites.
  • English language skills: Basic to intermediate English (B1).
  • Working time flexibility: willingness to work outside normal hours for urgent interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation at customer sites following procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Install new systems at customer locations according to schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned tools for efficient service interventions.
  • Report technical issues or complaints and ensure proper follow-up with customers and internal teams.
  • Provide detailed reporting of activities to customers and internally.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Support, Quality, Aftermarket Workshop, and Technical Support.

Job Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing Ingersoll Rand compressed air products and components. The role includes troubleshooting and providing customer support services, while educating clients on product functionality and applications. The technician identifies issues and collaborates closely with the Service and Sales teams. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to identify problems with equipment or tools are essential.

Area of responsibility: Italy
Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation activities at customer sites in accordance with Ingersoll Rand procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
  • Install new systems at customer locations, following a schedule shared with the Service Coordinator
  • Prepare and maintain assigned tools to ensure efficiency and success in all service interventions
  • Report any technical issues or complaints raised during commissioning and ensure efficient information flow for proper follow-up with customers and internal teams
  • Provide detailed reporting of activities, both internally and to customers
  • Collaborate closely with the following functions:
    • Sales
    • Sales Support
    • Quality
    • Internal Aftermarket Workshop
    • Technical Support
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry (mechanical, chemical, plant design, installation)
  • Daily travel: Ability to travel on a daily basis within the assigned territory National (Italy) and Europe (if required) to customer sites.
  • Working time flexibility: Availability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, when required to address urgent interventions or critical equipment breakdowns.
  • Operational adaptability: Ability to handle unforeseen situations, last-minute schedule changes, and quickly reprioritize daily activities based on emergencies and requests coordinated by the technical support team.
  • English language skills: Basic to intermediate English level (approximately B1), with the ability to understand technical information and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
