Descrizione del lavoro

Join us as a Field Service Engineer, supporting customers across Northern and Central Italy, within the Automation Solutions division, specifically in the Power & Water Solutions area.

If you enjoy hands‑on work in the field, this role lets you combine electrical/automation skills with IT/OT (Windows Server, networking, virtualization), cybersecurity, and direct customer interaction. You’ll make sure Emerson’s control systems and technologies, such as Ovation™ DCS/SIS and the Power & Water Cybersecurity Suite, are properly installed, commissioned, maintained, and upgraded, so they run safely and reliably at customer sites.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Install & Commission Emerson field instruments (pressure, temperature, level, flow) and control systems, including Ovation™ DCS/SIS.

  • Maintain & Calibrate instruments and systems; perform routine health checks and performance assessments.

  • Diagnose & Resolve faults (troubleshooting) both on‑site and remotely (phone/internet), ensuring timely incident resolution.

  • Execute System Upgrades and enhancements across Windows Server/clients, virtualization, network configuration, and Power & Water Cybersecurity Suite (Backup & Recovery, Patch Management, Endpoint Security).

  • Provide Technical Support to customers, including participation in on‑call rotations and emergency call‑out services.

  • Deliver Customer Training on the operation, service, and application of Emerson products.

  • Support Projects at customer sites: acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, configuration/application support, and modifications.

  • Use Service & Internal Tools effectively (e.g., SMS, Guardian, CRM, INAZ, Clarity, Service App) and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

  • Collaborate Internally in a matrix organization (sales, projects, warehouse, administration) to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Ensure Compliance at all times with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and Trade Compliance procedures; actively use the Emerson Safety App.

Who You Are:

You act quickly and decisively to deliver results and build strong relationships with customers. You actively listen, check for understanding, and adapt your communication to meet different needs. You stay calm under pressure, solve problems effectively, and manage your time to meet deadlines. You learn new technologies with ease and always act with integrity, keeping safety and compliance as top priorities.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Industrial IT (or equivalent experience).

  • Practical experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance, and calibration of industrial instruments.

  • Knowledge of measurement principles (pressure, temperature, level, flow).

  • Skills in IT/OT environments: Windows Server, networking, virtualization, Active Directory, and basic cybersecurity.

  • Fluent Italian and good English.

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Italy, with occasional international/offshore assignments.

  • Ability to work non‑office hours, including weekends when required.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Experience in the Power & Energy sector (generation plants, utilities, OEM/EPC).

  • Background in control panels/electrical cabinets: wiring, panel building, and commissioning.

  • Hands‑on experience with server/workstation deployment, network setup, and industrial cybersecurity controls.

  • Familiarity with automation systems (DCS/PLC); willingness to learn Ovation™ and DeltaV.
