The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Tourism and at least 3 years of on-board hospitality experience. Responsibilities include collaborating with sales teams, training coordinators, and ensuring high guest experience standards. The Events Planner is responsible for managing any Institutional, Mice, Marketing and Media event\ / activity at sea. He\ / She liaises with sales and marketing team to translate the guest needs to the seagoing environment providing operational assistance in compliance with the Brand Standards and Guest Experience Product.

  • Fluent in English in written and oral. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.
  • University degree in Tourism.
  • On-board experience of minimum 3 years in the Hospitality Dept.
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office tools and Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stress and work under pressure.
  • Teamwork with Marketing\ / Communication \ / Commercial depts. for special projects \ / events\ / activities to be organized on-board according to ship’s operations.
  • Operative advice for MSC Commercial offices worldwide for their daily needs, inspections and overall programs with regards to commercial activities on board (groups, incentives, charters, ceremonies, private events and all other commercial activities), both at sea and in port with appropriate interaction with ship personnel and departments involved.
  • Constant alignment with hotel \ / technical\ / new building\ / F&B departments\ / Crew for proper event management of the above activities, to provide safe, entertaining and enriching events on board complying with all regulations to ensure health and safety issues and envisaging all scenarios, to anticipate and resolve any possible problem.
  • Venue Management and evaluation of feasibility of technical and operational requests (availability of venues, entertainment, equipment and tools, additional stages approval, private dining, special menu requests etc.).
  • Train and assist all on-board Event Coordinators in order to maintain the highest standard of hospitality.
