Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join the Simulation Software Platform team. You will help develop, maintain, and improve a strategic platform that models cooling units across the portfolio, translating business needs into reliable software solutions.

You will work with the Product Owner and engineers to understand architecture, ensure data integrity with Access/SQLite/EF, and implement robust numerical simulations while supporting cross-functional teams across R&D

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Computer Science, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience with OO programming and complex applications.
• Strong knowledge of C# and VB.NET, plus ability to understand VB6 legacy code.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the existing software platform, including legacy components developed in VB6, VB.NET, and C#.
• Manage data access and persistence using Microsoft Access, SQLite, and Entity Framework.
• Develop simulation models for new cooling units and maintain or enhance models for existing products.
• Design and implement new features, custom calculation logic, and complex numerical optimization algorithms.
• Test code changes and simulation results for robustness and physical consistency.
• Gather requirements from Sales, R&D, and stakeholders and assess feasibility and integration.
• Translate requirements into software specifications for development and validation.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to prioritize improvements and long-term evolution.
