Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and result-oriented US IT Bench Sales Consultant / Marketing & Placement Specialist to manage and market our IT consultants who are available on the bench or actively seeking new project opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in US IT staffing, bench sales, consultant marketing, vendor management, job portal sourcing, client development, and placement coordination. The person will be responsible for identifying suitable contract opportunities, marketing consultants to vendors and implementation partners, generating submissions, negotiating rates, and driving consultants toward successful placements.
The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, follow-up, relationship-building, and knowledge of the US IT staffing ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultant Marketing & Bench Sales
- Market and promote IT consultants who are available on bench or approaching project completion.
- Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to place consultants quickly and efficiently.
- Review consultant resumes and identify suitable technologies, skill sets, locations, industries, and job opportunities.
- Identify matching contract, contract-to-hire, and project-based opportunities for consultants.
- Market consultants through established vendor relationships, staffing partners, implementation partners, recruiters, and client networks.
- Prepare and distribute consultant marketing emails, profiles, availability information, and rate details to prospective vendors.
- Maintain accurate consultant marketing trackers and ensure timely follow-up on all submissions.
- Continuously expand the network of vendors, recruiters, implementation partners, and staffing companies.
2.Job Search & Requirement Analysis
- Search and identify relevant IT job requirements through job portals, recruiter networks, vendor portals, mailing lists, LinkedIn, and other professional channels.
- Analyze job descriptions and determine the suitability of available consultants.
- Match consultants with requirements based on technical skills, experience, location, work authorization, availability, and project requirements.
- Track new requirements and prioritize opportunities based on probability of placement.
- Coordinate with recruiters and account managers to clarify requirements when necessary.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of relevant opportunities for consultants.
3.Submission & Placement Management
- Submit qualified consultant profiles against relevant requirements.
- Coordinate with recruiters/vendors throughout the submission and interview process.
- Track submissions, interviews, feedback, rate discussions, and offer status.
- Follow up consistently with vendors and recruiters to obtain interview feedback and next steps.
- Coordinate interview schedules between consultants and prospective employers/clients.
- Assist in rate negotiation and ensure commercially viable placement opportunities.
- Work toward achieving monthly and quarterly placement targets.
- Maintain detailed records of all submissions, interviews, placements, and consultant status.
Vendor & Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with US-based IT staffing vendors, recruiters, implementation partners, and clients.
- Identify and onboard new vendors and staffing partners.
- Build a reliable network of recruiters and vendor contacts across multiple technologies.
- Communicate professionally with vendors regarding consultant availability, rates, skills, location, work authorization, and project requirements.
- Negotiate rates and terms while maintaining healthy long-term business relationships.
- Regularly follow up with existing contacts to identify upcoming requirements and opportunities.
- Maintain a database of vendor contacts, client contacts, requirements, and business relationships.
4.Consultant Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with consultants regarding availability, interviews, requirements, and placement opportunities.
- Understand consultant preferences such as location, remote/hybrid/on-site requirements, technology, contract type, and expected compensation/rate.
- Ensure consultant resumes and profiles are updated and aligned with current market requirements.
- Prepare consultants for interviews by sharing requirement details and coordinating schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of consultant availability and project status.
- Ensure consultants remain engaged and available during the marketing process.
5.Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily and weekly activity reports.
- Track consultant submissions, interview calls, client feedback, placements, and closures.
- Maintain updated marketing and placement trackers.
- Provide regular status reports to management.
- Track KPIs such as:
- Number of consultants marketed
- Requirements sourced
- Profiles submitted
- Submission-to-interview ratio
- Interviews scheduled
- Placements/closures
- Vendor additions
- Revenue generated
- Average placement cycle
- Ensure all activities and communication are properly documented in internal systems.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of US IT staffing and Bench Sales processes.
- Hands-on experience in marketing IT consultants in the US staffing market.
- Strong knowledge of US staffing terminology and recruitment processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent follow-up and relationship-management abilities.
- Ability to identify suitable requirements and quickly map consultants to opportunities.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple consultants and requirements simultaneously.
