Job summary

Vidya Online in Bengaluru seeks a skilled IT operations engineer to manage 365x24x7 server monitoring and L1 administration across AIX, Windows, Linux, and VMware.

You will handle log collection, backup/restore, incident response, DR server maintenance, and routine hardware checks, coordinating with OEM/CAMC vendors and supporting hosted applications and web services.

Responsibilities

• 365x24x7 monitoring and IT operation support of the server hardware and operating systems.
• L1 administration and monitoring for AIX, Windows, Linux, VMware with log collection and analysis.
• Hardware issue resolution and vendor coordination.
• Installation and re-installation of servers and desktops during failures.
• Backup / Restore operations and support for hosted applications and services.
• Application monitoring and backend services mail and messaging.
• DR server maintenance and periodic health checks of server and network environments.
• On-site operations including campus deployments and coordination with campus IT teams.

Role & responsibilities

• 365x24x7 monitoring and IT operation support of the server hardware and operating systems.
• Operating System (AIX, Windows, Linux, VMware) L1 administration and monitoring, Log
  collection and Analysis.
  
• Hardware issues fixing and OEM/CAMC vendor coordination.
• Installation and Re-installation of the server and Desktop and other hardware in the event of system crash/failures.
  
• Backup / Restore Operations (Manual /Automated)
  Facilitate required support infrastructure for hosted application
  Troubleshooting day to day IT issues on web services, mail services, applications software,
• Application Monitoring and Backend services Mail, messaging
  
• desktop/server relationship issues and overall aspects of IT environment.
  Establishing, updating and maintaining DR servers ers for various critical servers (PLM, Mail,)
  The support engineers deployed as part of the contract may require to
  work in ADA Campuses
• Temp clearance, Housekeeping and Reboot the servers as per the operation manuals
  Starting of Databases, Applications
  Verification of working of PLM Applications
  Checking Campus Network Availability
  Checking external network links (P2P, dedicated, ISP Links)
  Checking the DRONA Connectivity
  Periodical Monitoring of Server Health
  Periodic Monitoring of Network Health
  Performing Data Restore Operations
  Perfuming the on-demand backups for failed schedules
  Controlled File Transfer Activities from Internet to Intranet vice Versa
  Performing the operations related to Peripherals.
