Job summary

PSM Fasteners India is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to optimize forging, CNC machining, and related operations. You will set and optimize process parameters, monitor key metrics like OEE and process capability, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with heat treatment and plating processes preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Experience in Forging, CNC Machining, Automotive components.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish optimal process parameters for forging, CNC machining, and related operations.
  • Monitor critical process parameters to ensure product quality and process capability.
  • Identify and implement waste reduction and cycle time reduction initiatives.
  • Achieve productivity targets by improving machine utilization and reducing losses.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and implement CAPA.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to maintain operations.
  • Develop and update SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and work instructions.
  • Monitor OEE, rejection rates, rework, and downtime; drive CI initiatives.
  • Validate new processes, tooling, and changes before production.
  • Train operators and supervisors on controls and quality requirements.
  • Handle shop-floor manpower allocation for balanced workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, safety standards.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain optimal process parameters for forging, CNC machining, and associated manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor and control critical process parameters to ensure consistent product quality and process capability.
  • Identify and implement initiatives for waste reduction, cycle time reduction, and overall manufacturing efficiency improvement.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly productivity targets by improving machine utilization and reducing process losses.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and update SOPs, Process Flow Charts, Work Instructions, PFMEA, and Control Plans for standardized operations.
  • Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), rejection rates, rework, and downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Validate new processes, tooling, and engineering changes to ensure smooth implementation into production.
  • Train and guide operators and supervisors on process controls, standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and best manufacturing practices.
  • Handle shop-floor manpower allocation to ensure optimum utilization and balanced workflow across production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, safety standards, and company quality systems.

Prepare process performance reports, productivity analysis, and improvement project updates for management review.


Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Material Handling, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with heat treatment and plating processes is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process optimization, capacity planning, and quality assurance systems.
  • Hands-on experience in Forging, CNC Machining, Automotive Components, and Engineering Manufacturing

Familiarity with CAD, ERP, and MES platforms; experience with automation and material handling systems is a plus.
