Job summary

Bull Machines in Coimbatore seeks a seasoned Manufacturing Engineering leader to drive productivity, quality, and efficiency across the plant, while steering NPI, process validation, and production ramp-up for new models.

Lead Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, and OEE initiatives, optimize costs, ensure ISO/IATF and EHS compliance, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver sustainable manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 18 to 25 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering within Automotive, Construction Equipment, Commercial Vehicle, or Heavy Engineering.
  • Proven leadership in Manufacturing/Process/Plant Engineering functions.
  • Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, Industrial Engineering, and CI.
  • Hands-on experience in NPI, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, process validation, and ramp-up.
  • Experience in automation projects and Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, equipment selection and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of production systems, line balancing, cycle time, OEE, and cost reduction.
  • Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration with large teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF standards and EHS compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function to boost productivity, quality, and efficiency across the plant.
  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production methods.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, pilot builds, and production readiness for new models.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE to reduce waste and optimize costs.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues through structured problem-solving and CAPA.
  • Plan and execute automation, digital manufacturing, equipment installation, and technology enhancement projects.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Design, and Vendors for smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, ISO/IATF, EHS, and audits.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, resources, and CAPEX to meet business objectives.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team with a culture of innovation.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency across the plant.
  2. Develop, standardize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production methodologies.
  3. Drive New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, pilot builds, and production readiness for new models.
  4. Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE improvement initiatives to reduce waste and optimize manufacturing costs.
  5. Identify and resolve manufacturing, process, and production-related issues through structured problem-solving and CAPA implementation.
  6. Plan and execute automation, digital manufacturing, equipment installation, and manufacturing technology enhancement projects.
  7. Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Design, and Vendor teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
  8. Ensure compliance with quality systems, manufacturing standards, EHS regulations, and support internal/external audits.
  9. Manage manufacturing engineering budgets, project timelines, resource allocation, and CAPEX initiatives to achieve business objectives.
  10. Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  1. Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. 18 to 25 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering within the Automotive, Construction Equipment, Commercial Vehicle, or Heavy Engineering industry.
  3. Proven experience in leading Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Plant Engineering functions at a leadership level.
  4. Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, Industrial Engineering, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  5. Hands-on experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  6. Experience in automation projects, Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, equipment selection, commissioning, and manufacturing technology implementation.
  7. Strong knowledge of production systems, line balancing, cycle time optimization, OEE improvement, and manufacturing cost reduction.
  8. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with experience in managing large engineering teams.
  9. Sound understanding of ISO/IATF standards, EHS compliance, quality systems, and manufacturing audits.
  10. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic manufacturing initiatives, drive operational excellence, and deliver sustainable business improvements.
