Job summary

Havells is seeking an engineering professional to design and develop tools, jigs and fixtures for new and existing products, focusing on safety, quality and productivity improvements.

The role requires knowledge of 2D drawings, manufacturing processes, lean tools, and precision measurement. You will coordinate with vendors, run trials, and document PFMEA and WI as part of tool development.

Qualifications

• 2D drawing knowledge with AutoCAD or Bricks Cad.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, painting, pressing, forming, grinding and casting.
• Knowledge of motor manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Lean tools and techniques.
• Experience with Cycle Time Study and Line Balancing.
• Basic GD&T knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Use of measuring instruments: Vernier, micrometer, height gauge.
• Knowledge of CNC and VMC programming and operation.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience preparing PFMEA, CP and WI documents.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• New product development- Process requirement identification and implementation
• NPD Project management
• Collaborate with other teams to identify and resolve tools/processes issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and materials.
• Take tool/die/pattern/mould trials & prepare reports.

Preferred candidate profile

Knowledge of 2D drawing: AutoCAD/Bricks Cad

Knowledge of Manufacturing processes and technologies (Turning, Milling, Painting, Pressing, Forming, Grinding, Casting etc.)

• Knowledge of Motor Manufacturing Processes.
• Knowledge of Lean Tools & Techniques
• Experience of Cycle Time Study, Line Balancing.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings (able to read and understand drawings)
• Use of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height gauge etc.)
• Knowledge of programming and operation of CNC & VMC
• Knowledge of MS office (Excel, Power point & Word)
• Experience of preparing PFD, PFMEA, CP, WI documents
