Job summary

MRF is seeking a PLC Programmer for Projects & Automation to develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs across its manufacturing plants in India. The role requires hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA integration, and strong debugging skills.

You will commission, test, and support automation projects, coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Maintenance, and Production teams, and contribute to machine upgrades and process improvements. Extensive travel is expected.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Mechatronics.
• 5–10 years of PLC programming and industrial automation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills for PLC, HMI/SCADA, and control systems.

Responsibilities

PLC Programmer Projects & Automation

Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for new and existing automation systems.
• Commission, test, and support automation projects across MRF plants.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, HMI, communication, and control system issues.
• Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Maintenance, and Production teams.
• Maintain PLC backups and project documentation.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000/RSLogix).
• PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• HMI/SCADA integration and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus, etc.).
• Experience of VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial automation.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics

Experience

• 5 - 10 years in PLC programming and industrial automation.

Travel Requirement

• Willingness to travel extensively across MRF manufacturing plants in India for project execution, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
