Job summary

Mvs Acmei Technologies in Hyderabad seeks an experienced PLC Automation Engineer to lead automation projects across manufacturing lines. You will design, program, test, and commission PLC-based systems, develop HMI/SCADA interfaces, and integrate controls with motors, drives, sensors, and robotics while prioritizing safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC/HMI/SCADA, and machine commissioning.
• Experience designing, programming, testing and commissioning PLC-based systems with strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems.
• Develop and modify HMI and SCADA applications based on project requirements.
• Perform machine commissioning, installation, testing, and validation at customer sites.
• Integrate PLCs with VFDs, servo systems, sensors, robots, and industrial networks.
• Prepare automation documentation including IO lists, control philosophy, and operation manuals.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Design, and Project teams for project execution.
• Conduct FAT and SAT and ensure adherence to safety standards and customer specifications.
• Provide technical support, training, and guidance to customers and junior engineers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and reliability.

We are seeking an experienced PLC Automation Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and machine commissioning. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in designing, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning automated systems while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems.
• Develop and modify HMI and SCADA applications based on project requirements.
• Perform machine commissioning, installation, testing, and validation at customer sites.
• Integrate PLCs with VFDs, servo systems, sensors, robots, and industrial communication networks.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related issues during production and commissioning.
• Prepare automation documentation, including IO lists, control philosophy, functional specifications, and operation manuals.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Design, and Project teams for successful project execution.
• Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality procedures, and customer specifications.
• Provide technical support, training, and guidance to customers and junior engineers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and reliability.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming using:
  • Siemens (S7-1200, S7-1500, TIA Portal)
  • Allen Bradley (Studio 5000/RSLogix)
  • Mitsubishi
  • Omron
  • Delta (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with HMI development (WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Pro-face, Weintek, etc.).
• Experience with SCADA systems such as WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware, or Citect.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols:
  • Modbus RTU/TCP
  • Profinet
  • Profibus
  • Ethernet/IP
  • CANopen
• Experience with Servo Drives, VFDs, Motion Control, and Industrial Robotics.
• Good understanding of electrical control panels and instrumentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Relevant PLC/HMI certifications are an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Packaging Machines, Material Handling Systems, Automotive Automation, Process Automation, or Manufacturing Industries.
• Exposure to Industry 4.0, IIoT, and MES integration is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for customer installations and commissioning.
