Job Summary

The Assistant Manager / Manager Projects & Instrumentation will be responsible for executing greenfield and brownfield instrumentation projects, maintaining plant instrumentation systems, ensuring high equipment reliability, and supporting automation initiatives. The role involves project execution, preventive maintenance, and shutdown planning, PLC/DCS programming support, calibration, and process optimization across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

• Execute instrumentation activities for Greenfield and expansion projects.
• Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), IO Schedules, Cable Schedules, and Instrument Index.
• Perform loop checking, HART calibration, and commissioning of field instruments.
• Review and select field instruments based on P&ID requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, electrical, mechanical, and civil teams during project execution.
• Ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Instrumentation & Automation

• Maintain PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for uninterrupted plant operation.
• Work on Siemens, Schneider, and ABB PLC systems, including program modifications, troubleshooting, and backup management.
• Maintain IO panels, VFDs, process interlocks, transmitters, analyzers, and field instrumentation.
• Develop and optimize PID control loops for process improvement.
• Ensure proper calibration and documentation of all field instruments.

Maintenance & Operations

• Oversee instrumentation maintenance across the entire plant, from Crusher to Packer.
• Ensure high availability of conveyors, bag filters, weigh scales, timer panels, VFDs, field instruments, and air compressors.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Lead shutdown planning and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.

Planning & Resource Management

• Plan daily jobs and allocate manpower for efficient execution.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEM service engineers.
• Manage instrumentation spare parts inventory and procurement planning.
• Monitor departmental budgets and optimize maintenance costs.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and statutory regulations.
• Maintain calibration records, maintenance history, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Support safety audits, ISO documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
