Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru, India seeks a senior instrumentation engineer with extensive oil and gas project experience to review inputs, ensure engineering integrity, and drive instrument datasheets and loop diagrams to completion.

The role requires strong knowledge of CSA/API/ANSI/ISA codes, P&ID reviews with process and piping teams, and mentoring junior engineers while upholding health and safety standards on project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in oil and gas engineering deliverables.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SmartPlant Instrumentation software.
• Experience sizing control valves, PSV and flow meters.

Responsibilities

• Review and verification of inputs as per the project requirement.
• Knowledge and experience applying CSA, API, ANSI and ISA codes.
• P&ID review with process and piping teams, updating changes.
• Prepare Instrument Index and Instrument I/O list.
• Prepare datasheets, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, cable schedules.
• Prepare Instrument Location Plan, MTO, power distribution, PLC IO layout.
• Mentor junior executors and ensure safety/regulatory compliance.

• Review and verification of inputs as per the project requirement.
• Knowledge and experience of applying codes and standards such as CSA, API, ANSI and ISA.
• P&ID review with process team & Piping Team, updating necessary changes.
• Review vendor and existing drawings for design compliance.
• Preparation of Instrument Index and Instrument I/O list.
• Preparation of datasheet.
• Preparation of FJB interconnection wiring diagram.
• Preparation of Loop diagram.
• Preparation of Cable Schedule.
• Preparation of Instrument Location Plan.
• Preparation of Cable & Conduit tray routing.
• Preparation of Instrument Hookup drawings.
• Preparation of MTO.
• Preparation Power Distribution.
• Preparation of PLC layout & IO Schedule.
• Preparation of Cause & Effect Diagram.
• Knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, PLC equipment panels and motors.
• Orifice Venturi, Control valve and Flow nozzle sizing calculations
• Monitor/supervise the work of junior executors and assist with mentorship and training.
• Prepare engineering QC document as per company and client standards.
• Knowledge on technical reasoning, analytical and monitoring skills
• Assist in selection of discipline personnel assigned to projects.
• Interface with the other engineering disciplines to ensure a coordinated design and that project engineering deliverables are completed.
• Provide and demonstrate leadership in accordance with Environment Health and Safety program to establishing a strong safety culture within the organization and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Required Skills And Experience

Key Skills

• Bachelor of Engineering - Instrumentation, ECE Preferable.
• with 12+years of exp from Oil and gas Engineering Deliverable environment
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Smart plant Instrumentation (Intools) software.
• Excellent computer skills including use of engineering and computer software to complete control valve, PSV and flow meter sizing.
• Specify and purchase field instruments including electronic and pneumatic transmitters, switches, meter-runs, analyzers, control valves and ESD valves.
• Requires a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials, and the economics involved.
