A gaming company in Bali is seeking a Senior Game Designer who excels in client consultation and game design. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to create clear documentation. A background in simulations or educational games is a plus, along with technical skills in C# and Unity. This hybrid role combines serious and casual game design.
We are looking for a versatile Game Designer who lives at the intersection of complex data and pure fun. You will be designing cutting‑edge Geospatial AI applications (Serious Games) as well as engaging, lighthearted casual games.
Crucially, this is a communicative role. You will work hand‑in‑hand with our Project Manager to keep scopes realistic, and directly with our Clients to translate their abstract ideas into concrete, playable mechanics. You are the bridge between the client’s vision and the development team’s reality.
Client Consultation: Sit in on client meetings to understand requirements for serious games (Geospatial AI) and translate them into clear Game Design Documents (GDD).
Scope Management: Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure your designs are feasible within the timeline and budget. You design for shipping, not just for dreaming.
Serious & Casual Design: Switch gears between designing accurate simulation systems and addictive, humorous gameplay loops.
Documentation: Create crystal‑clear documentation (wireframes, flows, wiki pages) that leaves no room for ambiguity for the developers or the client.
Experience: 3+ years of Game Design experience, with a portfolio showing both Game work and clear documentation.
Communication: You can explain complex game mechanics to non‑gamers (clients) without using jargon. You are comfortable presenting and defending your design decisions.
Team Player: You respect the Project Manager’s role. You understand that a great feature is useless if it takes 6 months too long to build.
The “Serious” Side: Experience with Simulations, GIS, or Educational games.
The “Fun” Side: A sense of humor in design—understanding “juice,” game feel, and satisfying interactions.
Technical Skills: Ability to script in C# and Unity for rapid prototyping is highly preferred (bonus).
Communication: You can write clear Game Design Documents (GDD) that developers can actually use.
