Job summary

Marriott JW Marriott Surabaya is seeking a Jr Sous Chef Pastry to join our kitchen team. You will assist in producing cold and hot pastries, manage oven temperatures, and ensure proper portioning and presentation according to recipes and standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of related experience, a technical or vocational degree, and no supervisory responsibilities. You will support the Chef, train junior staff, and maintain hygiene and safety policies in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• No supervisory experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepare special pastries and maintain quality and portion control
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching pastry staff
• Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials
• Maintain food logs and ensure hygiene and safety compliance
• Communicate effectively with team and ensure presentation standards
