Job summary

Yogyakarta Marriott is seeking a Pastry Chef to lead the pastry team, craft high-quality pastries, and ensure sanitation and food standards are met across all outlets. The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and the ability to maintain budgets and guest satisfaction.

The incumbent will guide shifts, supervise cooks, and collaborate with culinary leadership to develop new pastry items while upholding brand standards and consistency across all services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
• Or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.

Responsibilities

• Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications.
• Maintains food preparation handling and correct storage standards and supervises pastry preparation shift operations.
• Ensures and maintains the productivity level of employees and that standards are met.
• Provides exceptional customer service and fosters guest satisfaction through quality pastry offerings.
• Supports training and development of staff, including menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
