Physiotherapist - MSK

The closing date is 30 December 2025

We are looking for a physiotherapist with extensive experience working in an outpatient MSK setting, who can demonstrate they have gained significant knowledge and skill in the assessment and management of patients presenting with a wide range of MSK conditions and ideally someone who has developed a special interest in management of common spinal conditions.

Part Time hours would be considered.

You will be a strong team player with excellent communication and health coaching skills. You will be involved in the delivery and development of pathways and will support the development of junior staff and students.

You will embrace innovation and integrated working and will be committed to following best practice to ensure patient‑centred care.

You will be actively involved in service development and will need to work on your own initiative as well as being responsible for the development of junior staff.

You will be willing to work across NEE to meet the needs of the service, specifically contributing to supervision of B6 staff in satellite sites (Harwich and Clacton).

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the integrated team to deliver therapeutic input to patients in a clinic setting with the aim of returning them to maximum independent living, within a stimulating environment actively promoting self‑management on all activities of daily living.

Working as an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will provide specialist input to all patients that fall within their specialist field of expertise.

Work with colleagues across health, social care, mental health and voluntary sector to ensure holistic and joined up delivery of care.

Empower patients to make decisions about their own care and encourage them to exercise their rights and choices, signposting them to relevant community and voluntary services and supporting patient's carers and assistants with management of risk.

Manage the work of junior staff, assistants, students and volunteers in own professional area.

Experience
  • Significant experience at Band 6 level – working in MSK settings.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of MSK therapies within the current evolving health environment.
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary / interdisciplinary team.
  • Advanced competencies related to care group.
  • Experience of supervising the work of others.
  • Experience of managing complex/highly specialist cases.
  • Previous experience of developing a service.
  • Previous experience of formal presentations to multi professional groups.
  • Experience of research.
  • Robust understanding of all aspects of Clinical Governance including previous experience of quality issues, audit and risk management.
Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Professional knowledge and skills underpinned by theory and experience, acquired through degree supplemented by specialist training, experience in specialist field, to masters level or equivalent.
  • Recognised post graduate qualification in related area e.g. MSc, PGCert.
  • Recognised member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
