We are seeking a friendly, organised and resilient Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join our supportive team at Silverdale Medical Practice, a busy and well-established GP practice serving approximately 12,800 patients.
This is a key front‑facing role where you will be the first point of contact for patients, both in person and by telephone, helping them access the right care at the right time. You will also provide vital administrative support to our clinical and management teams, contributing to the safe and efficient running of the practice.
Working afternoons (1.30pm‑6.30pm, Monday to Friday), this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering a high standard of service. You will be supported with full training, clear protocols and a welcoming team culture.

The role involves working as part of the reception and administration team to ensure patients receive a safe, efficient and welcoming service. You will handle incoming telephone calls and face‑to‑face enquiries, support patients with appointment booking and access to services, and help navigate our triage system.
You will also carry out a range of administrative tasks to support clinicians and managers, including processing correspondence, updating patient records, and managing routine practice workflows. Accuracy, confidentiality and good communication are essential, as you will regularly liaise with patients, clinicians and external services.
The role requires someone who can manage a busy workload, remain calm under pressure, and work collaboratively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Training and support will be provided to develop the skills needed to succeed in a fast‑paced general practice environment.
Silverdale Medical Practice is a large, well‑established GP practice based at Pendlebury Health Centre, caring for approximately 12,800 patients in a diverse community with varying health needs. Our team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and a dedicated reception and administration workforce. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, inclusive and collaborative organisation where everyone's role is valued.
The practice has a strong work ethic focused on teamwork, mutual respect and continuous improvement. We recognise the pressures of primary care and place importance on staff wellbeing, clear communication and supportive leadership. New staff are welcomed, trained and supported to develop confidence and skills in their role.
Working at Silverdale offers job stability, opportunities to learn and grow within the NHS, access to the NHS Pension Scheme, and the chance to make a real difference to patients and the local community every day.
