A regional healthcare provider is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to lead clinical services within the Neonatal Unit. This role requires managing a pharmacy team and ensuring compliance with medicinal standards. Candidates should have significant hospital experience and be registered with GPhC. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated pharmacist to manage and develop a high quality pharmacy service for patients within the Trust's Neonatal Unit, part of the Women & Child Health Group. The successful candidate will be embedded within the unit and lead all clinical pharmacy services, ensuring an optimal, safe and efficient clinical service with medicines safety and governance requirements in place.
We seek someone with drive, enthusiasm and commitment, with excellent people skills to influence staff at many levels internally and externally to the Trust. The post requires an experienced pharmacist with significant experience in an acute hospital setting within paediatrics, neonatology and maternity services. The department has a track record of innovation in automated storage, robotic dispensing, and electronic prescribing/administration, and the successful applicant will contribute to these and other developments.
Location: Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, Grove Lane, Smethwick, B66 2QT. Band 8a, £55,690 to £62,682 per annum. Permanent, full-time.
The post is a full-time embedded role within the Neonatal Unit. Post holders will work with the multidisciplinary team to improve compliance with medicines standards, enhance medicines safety, and upskill the wider neonatal workforce on medicines-related issues. You will maintain strong links with the Pharmacy Department and other members of the pharmacy team within the Women & Child Health Group.
Key duties include supporting pharmaceutical needs of neonatal patients and families, enabling advanced practice opportunities and acting in a non-medical prescriber role where appropriate.
