Overview

As a Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse you are responsible for assessment and care of respiratory patients, prioritisation of treatment, delivery of care and evaluation.

Main Duties
  • Carry out all relevant forms of care with or without direct supervision, demonstrate procedures and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff within the department.
  • Oversee the day-to-day function of the ward.
  • Support the Ward Manager with day‑to‑day management of the ward, ensuring staffing levels are safe, raising concerns and arranging cover when necessary.
  • Manage post holders within ward establishment.
  • Lead a team and ensure an appropriately skilled and effective workforce.
  • Flexible working patterns: rotation to night duty and weekend working, including bank holidays.
