About the role:

As a Principal Data & AI Consultant, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

1. Client engagements, account strategy & delivery responsibility within Data Science or AI Engineering domain(s)
   
   1. Leading client development or enhancement of their Data & AI strategy to align with Business objectives
   2. Ability to support hands-on development tasks where necessary / required
   3. Technical authority for solution design and development through client engagements
   4. Interacts with engineering teams and ensures that solutions meet customer requirements in terms of functionality, performance, availability, scalability, and reliability
   5. Senior Stakeholder management
   6. Collaborate on commercial development of account(s) with Account Manager & delivery team
2. Commercial / Presales
   
   1. Support sales function through providing expert technical advice and thought leadership
   2. Generate content & materials in support of RFP or other bids
   3. Ownership of the creation and maintenance of sales support content & training materials for the sales team
   4. Collaboration on creation or adaptation of our GTM strategy & service offerings
3. Internal resource management / team building and management
   
   1. Support for recruitment
   2. Management of Capacity & Capability within your team aligned with client demand and our service offerings
   3. Mentoring members of your team and other members of the service line cross-skilling
4. Leadership role(s) within internal innovation initiative, including development of prototype or demo solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, machine learning techniques, and robust analytics to support analytic insights and visualization of complex data sets
5. Provide Thought Leadership within the service by exploring new experimentation methods and statistical techniques that could sharpen or speed up our product decision-making processes
6. Contribute to the Unit activities and community building, participate in conferences, and provide excellence in exercise and best practices.

General technical requirements:

1. BSc, MSc, or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Econometrics, or related fields
2. Strong knowledge of Probability Theory, Statistics, and a deep understanding of the Mathematics behind Machine Learning
3. Proficiency with CRISP-ML(Q) or TDSP methodologies for addressing commercial problems through data science or AI solutions
4. Hands-on experience with various machine learning techniques, including but not limited to:
   
   1. Regression
   2. Classification
   3. Clustering
   4. Dimensionality reduction
   5. LLM
5. Proficiency in Python for developing machine learning models and conducting statistical analyses
6. Strong understanding of data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., Python libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, etc.) and the ability to present data effectively

Specific technical requirements:

1. Data Science or AI / ML strategy
2. Data Science or AI / ML solution architecture
3. Proficiency in development / languages related to data processing, data manipulation, sampling, and reporting. (Python / SQL / Java / Scala / etc.)
4. Experience working with imbalanced datasets and applying appropriate techniques
5. Experience with time series data, including preprocessing, feature engineering, and forecasting
6. Experience with outlier detection and anomaly detection
7. Experience working with various data types: text, image, and video data
8. Familiarity with AI/ML cloud implementations (AWS, Azure, GCP, NVidia) and cloud-based AI/ML services (e.g., Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML)

Domain experience:

1. Industry knowledge and experience in one of the following; BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail / Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Energy or Utilities, Tech
2. Extensive experience working with POS systems data, including transaction records, SKU-level details, and understanding of sales cycles
3. Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, store layouts, product placements, and how these factors impact sales and customer engagement
4. Familiarity with inventory management data, demand planning, and supply chain logistics, including forecasting stock levels and minimizing overstock/understock scenarios
5. Experience working with multiple data sources from online and offline retail channels (e.g., e-commerce platforms, in-store sales) and integrating them to deliver a unified customer view
6. Expertise in building models to predict future demand for products based on historical sales data, seasonality, promotions, and external factors like economic trends
7. Strong experience in developing personalized product recommendation systems using collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, or hybrid models to enhance the customer shopping experience
8. Expertise in association rule mining to identify frequently bought-together items for cross-selling and upselling opportunities
9. Ability to develop predictive models for customer churn, identifying at-risk customers and designing targeted retention strategies
10. Expertise in developing personalized customer experiences, from personalized promotions to tailored product recommendations based on real-time customer interactions
11. Knowledge of data privacy laws and frameworks like GDPR, CCPA, and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) to ensure the secure handling of customer data and payment information
12. Expertise in managing sensitive consumer data, including PII (Personally Identifiable Information), and implementing consent-based data collection practices to protect customer privacy
13. Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for analyzing customer interactions and optimizing marketing and sales strategies
14. Ability to work with merchandisers, marketing teams, store managers, and supply chain teams to ensure that data-driven insights are actionable and aligned with business goals

Business-related requirements:

1. Proven experience in developing data science solutions that drive measurable business impact, with a strong track record of end-to-end project execution
2. Ability to effectively translate business problems into data science problems and create solutions from scratch using machine learning and statistical methods
3. Excellent project management and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex, detailed work and effectively communicate progress and results to stakeholders at all levels

Desirable:

1. Experience with MLOps, including integration of machine learning pipelines into production environments, Docker, and containerization/orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
2. Experience in deep learning development using TensorFlow or PyTorch libraries
3. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI applications
4. Advanced SQL proficiency, with experience in MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL
5. Familiarity with platforms like Databricks and Snowflake for data engineering and analytics
6. Experience working with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Spark)
7. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., columnar or graph databases like Cassandra, Neo4j)
8. Research experience with peer-reviewed publications
9. Certifications in cloud-based machine learning services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
