Job summary
A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in Static & Piping to join a major Oil & Gas project in Doha, Qatar. The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years in the Oil & Gas sector. The role involves leading engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project standards and schedules while mentoring junior engineers. The position offers a full-time opportunity with significant responsibilities in technical design and engineering management.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience, including 6 years in Oil & Gas.
- Experience across concept development, FEED, EPIC, providing technical support to site operations.
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical design and engineering services for projects, ensuring compliance.
- Conduct mechanical engineering activities including site surveys, studies, and commissioning.
- Coordinate activities of multidiscipline engineering teams for timely delivery.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Static & Piping disciplines to provide technical design and engineering services major Oil & Gas projects. The role involves overseeing engineering activities from concept through FEED, detailed design, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to QatarEnergy standards, project schedules, budgets, and HSE requirements.
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Engineering for assigned projects, ensuring quality, schedule, cost, and HSE compliance.
- Conduct mechanical engineering activities, including site surveys, engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
- Apply QatarEnergy technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental, and safety policies in all engineering work.
- Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, and standards.
- Plan and coordinate activities of multidiscipline engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of technical services.
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors, liaising to resolve technical issues.
- Develop, update, and monitor engineering schedules and contribute to FEED/EPIC scheduling activities for effective project delivery.
- Evaluate technical bid packages for scope compliance and review contract changes or variations.
- Support personal and team technical development, mentoring Associate Qatari Engineers as part of structured training initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

- Experience across concept development, FEED, EPIC, and providing technical support to site/plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards, international codes, and company standards.
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in greenfield and brownfield projects, including multiple-project environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent in English.
- Strong technical knowledge in Mechanical Engineering (Static & Piping).
- Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Competency in reviewing and approving contractor deliverables and method statements.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and project coordination abilities.
- Commitment to HSE standards and quality assurance.
- Mentoring and training skills for junior engineers.
