Job summary
A construction management firm in Balcombe seeks a Technical Author to produce high-quality Handover Documentation. The ideal candidate should possess a full driving license, demonstrate self-motivation, and have a collaborative spirit. Experience in the construction and utilities sectors is desirable. Responsibilities include producing O&M Manuals, H&S Files, and liaising with site teams. A hybrid working model is offered.
Qualifications
- Must possess a full driving license.
- Experience in technical authorship and documentation.
- Knowledge of construction site H&S rules is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Produce Handover Documentation to required standards.
- Liaise with Site Team and external suppliers.
- Prepare Operations & Maintenance Manuals, Training Plans, and H&S Files.
Skills
Education
Personal Attributes: Must be able to work to own initiative and as part of a team. With hybrid working, must be self-motivational. Due to the locations of our works, a full driving license is necessary. Competent with Microsoft Office packages & SharePoint.
Experience of producing required Technical Handover Documentation, and meeting deadlines. Knowledge of construction & utilities sectors is desirable, and of construction sites H&S rules.

CSCS or equivalent
EUSR National Water Hygiene
To produce all areas of ‘Handover Documentation’ to clients required standard. This will involve liaising with Site Team and external suppliers, producing documentation such as Operations & Maintenance Manuals, Training Plans, Health & Safety Files and Asset Data Registers.
Technical Authoring of:
- O&M Manuals
- H&S Files
- Training Plans
- Asset Data Register
Working to tight deadlines
Liaising with others
Ability to attend operational & in-construction sites
Printing & general admin tasks
Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post
