Bid Writer - Social Housing

Location: Bishop's Stortford (Hybrid Working) Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annum Annual Leave: 25 days + public holidays

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join our New Business team. You will play a vital role in producing high-quality, compelling written responses to PQQs and ITTs, maintaining internal bid systems, and supporting the wider marketing and pre-construction functions. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of office-based and remote work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop clear, persuasive written content for PQQs, EOIs, and ITTs.
  • Customise and rework bid library content to meet specific project requirements.
  • Ensure all submissions are aligned with scoring criteria, deadlines, and win themes.
  • Attend bid meetings, site visits, and coordinate with operational teams and SMEs.
  • Manage incoming tender notifications, track deadlines, and update bid systems.
  • Maintain tender portals and company compliance documentation.
  • Support live project case study development and site information gathering.
  • Provide assistance to the marketing team and attend business development events.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Bid Assistant or bid support role.
  • Knowledge of construction, procurement, or business development environments.
  • Strong command of English grammar and written communication.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe tools (InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience maintaining company accreditations and compliance portals.
