Sales and Marketing Director – Leisure & Lifestyle New Business

Location: Northwest England

Travel Required: Liverpool, Sheffield, Bristol, Southwest, London, North

A fast-growing, community-led leisure and lifestyle business with a focus on fitness, community, and social sports, with new openings and more in pipeline. The company aims to scale up within the next five years, targeting £10+ million in annual revenues. It is culture-driven, ambitious, and operates with a tight-knit executive team based in the Northwest.

Role Overview

The Sales and Marketing Director will lead the company's growth strategy, focusing on new business development and expanding operations across multiple sites. This role is suitable for someone experienced in scaling leisure, fitness, or F&B operations, especially in multi-site environments. The Director will build brand credibility, increase revenue streams, and connect with Gen Z and community-focused audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to support rapid expansion and revenue goals.
• Lead and develop high-performing sales and marketing teams, fostering a results-oriented culture.
• Oversee marketing activities (digital, social, print, PR) to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
• Identify and develop new revenue streams, including memberships, F&B, retail, and social sports events.
• Build relationships with partners, stakeholders, and communities across regions.
• Analyze market trends, competitors, and consumer insights to inform strategies.
• Collaborate with the CEO and CFO on business planning and decision-making.
• Manage budgets, ROI, and performance reporting for marketing initiatives.
• Act as a brand ambassador to promote an inclusive, socially engaging brand appealing to Gen Z and local communities.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in scaling leisure, fitness, or F&B businesses, ideally multi-site, community-led, or lifestyle brands.
• Proven success in achieving growth targets and managing pipelines in fast-paced settings.
• Energetic, hands-on leader capable of motivating teams during rapid growth.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and brand-building for Gen Z and communities.
• Business acumen with analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience launching new sites and creating engaging campaigns.
• Willingness to travel within the UK as needed.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and flat-structure environment.
• Background in fitness, food service, social sports, or lifestyle retail.
• Experience in community engagement and grassroots marketing.
• Familiarity with community-led fitness or social sports venues targeting Gen Z.
