Job Description

The Commercial Finance Analyst (1 day in the office per week) will be:

1. Partner with Commercial Directors to optimise critical financial metrics, including revenue growth, margins and working capital performance.
2. Lead financial planning by orchestrating budgets, maintaining forecasts and analysing variances to drive business performance.
3. Transform complex financial data into structured reporting that delivers clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
4. Develop financial models for strategic initiatives, incorporating sensitivity analyses and risk assessments for business opportunities.
5. Advise business leaders through in-depth financial analysis of commercial activities and market opportunities.
6. Manage project financials by establishing monitoring frameworks and conducting post-implementation reviews.
7. Drive process improvements by implementing automated solutions and standardised analytical frameworks.
8. Support executive decisions through comprehensive financial analyses combining quantitative and qualitative insights.
9. Execute investment appraisals using NPV, IRR and payback calculations to optimise resource utilisation.
10. Collaborate with commercial teams to evaluate product launches and pricing strategies, ensuring thorough financial assessment.

The Successful Applicant

The Commercial Finance Analyst (1 day in the office per week) will be:

1. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong commercial acumen.
2. Proven track record in a commercial finance role within retail or FMCG.
3. Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships at senior level.
4. Strong financial modelling and scenario analysis capabilities.
5. Deep understanding of retail metrics and KPIs.
6. Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
7. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
