Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst

Location: Grays, Essex

Salary/Benefits: £25k - £32k + Training & Benefits

A UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy located in Grays is looking for an organised Asbestos Lab Analyst with a keen eye for detail and sound technical knowledge. Applicants must hold the BOHS P401 and a methodical approach. The role involves conducting bulk analysis of ACM samples, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining the laboratory efficiency.

Commuting: The candidate must be able to commute to any of the following locations: Grays, Tilbury, Rainham, Barking, Ilford, Romford, Hornchurch, Chigwell, Epping, Chelmsford, Harlow, Wickford, Billericay, Basildon, South Benfleet, Canvey Island, South Woodham Ferrers, Hockley, Southend‑on‑Sea, Maldon, Witham or Burnham‑on‑Crouch.

Experience / Qualifications
  • BOHS P401 qualification
  • Experience as an Asbestos Lab Analyst within a UKAS accredited company
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proven successful track record
Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming ACM samples into the laboratory
  • Analyse samples to identify the presence and type of asbestos

  • Keep the company database updated with results
  • Produce certificates and issue them to clients
  • Participate in quality assurance checks
  • Work to set deadlines
  • Maintain cleanliness and operation of laboratory equipment
