As a Youth Worker, you will be supporting students aged 2 to 19 within a specialist setting. The school has both primary and secondary provisions, giving you the option to choose the age group you feel most confident working with.

The pupils you'll be supporting have a range of needs, including:

  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Learning difficulties
  • Autism
  • Down's syndrome

To thrive in this position, you should be compassionate, patient, and able to use your initiative. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt your approach to each child's individual needs are also essential.

A strong understanding of safeguarding practices within education is absolutely crucial.
