Youth Support Worker - Abingdon

A really rewarding position has become available for a Youth Support Worker to work in a school in Abingdon. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.

They place a huge focus on supporting students who have been diagnosed with Autism, and ensure they are being met with the necessary interventions to support their development and education.

As a Youth Support Worker you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health, regulate their emotions and adopt healthy coping strategies.

Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students. You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required.

Overall this will be a transformative experience, enriching your life while also making a positive impact on the lives of children who are struggling to cope in the classroom.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art or drama will also be at an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
