Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and nurture pupils at a crucial stage in their education, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a full-time role beginning in September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

1. Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
2. Differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs of all students, ensuring progress and achievement for every child
3. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and a love of learning
4. Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed
5. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support the holistic development of each child
6. Promote high expectations of behaviour and achievement, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential
7. Participate in whole-school initiatives, extracurricular activities, and school events

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5
3. A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methods
4. A passion for education and a commitment to providing outstanding learning experiences
5. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment
6. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration
