Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Playworker to join the team at Whyteleafe Primary on a part time permanent basis. This rewarding role involves supporting our before and after school provision. We are ideally seeking someone who can cover five morning sessions (07:30-08:30 Mon to Fri) and some afternoon sessions (15:00-18:00 Mon Tues & Fri). If youre passionate about working with children and creating a fun safe and engaging environment we’d love to hear from you.

The before and after School Club at Whyteleafe Primary School provides quality childcare for children. The successful candidate will be prepared to work hard and respond positively to the challenges of day‑to‑day school life and be a strong team player.

What we are looking for
  • Be able to develop positive relationships with young children
  • Have an interest in the play needs of children
  • Be able to participate in a variety of activities including arts and crafts cooking and other indoor and outdoor games.
  • Be proactive using their own initiative to differentiate activities to ensure full inclusion for all abilities and ages.
  • Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour and circumstances
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated and committed to working as part of a team
