Engineering Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor, (NIGHTS) London, £ COMP + Benefits

Unknown Recruitment are looking to recruit an Engineering Supervisor (Night Shift) for our client based in London. The Engineering Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor will ensure that the engineering running shift team work effectively and efficiently throughout the shift to ensure that there are sufficient fit vehicles for service and breakdowns / on the road faults are actioned efficiently.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 22.00pm – 06.00am

Responsibilities
  • Allocating work and duties to the engineering team to ensure that there are sufficient vehicles to provide the required service.
  • Ensuring the engineering team effectively and efficiently deliver the planned and unplanned maintenance and ensuring that all vehicles wheels are checked and torqued.
  • Ensuring that the Peak Vehicle Requirement is delivered and effectively managed daily, this is likely to involve a cooperative approach with the Operations Teams.
  • Reviewing the vehicles and allocating a status to each vehicle ensuring that unsafe and unfit vehicles do not enter service and logging any mileage that may be lost, this will include highlighting any specific mileage challengers that may arise.
  • Undertaking frequent and regular reviews of the facilities and workshop, this will include general housekeeping and reporting of any facilities issues and defects.
  • Ensuring any visitors or contractors who are working in the engineering department have the necessary and required permits to work and supervise any engineering contractors working within the department.
  • Carrying out quality checks on all vehicles ensuring that they meet both the DVSA and company standards.
  • Managing the workshop engineers who are working during the night shift ensuring that they have the skills and ability to carry out their role. This will include performance management and ensuring that the time at work is effect and productive.
Requirements

It is essential that you have prior experience of managing a team of engineers and are capable of motivating colleagues and ensuring they are willing to work with you to deliver the required vehicle maintenance.

There may be times when you may be required to work under pressure without close supervision and we are looking for you to show initiative and flexibility.

Proficient user of the Microsoft office suite and an ability to quickly learn the technologies that are unique to our business.

Ideally you will be a member of the IRTE or hold another relevant professional qualification and an interest in emerging technologies and electric vehicles would be an advantage.
