Perfect Placement is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller for a flagship franchise dealership in Cardiff, South Wales. You will lead a busy service department, drive efficiency, and manage a team of technicians and apprentices to deliver high-quality service.

Key qualifications include three-plus years in automotive workshop management, franchise dealership experience, and strong leadership and IT literacy. A full UK driving licence and proximity to Cardiff are required.

Qualifications

• Three+ years’ experience running an automotive workshop.
• Franchise-approved dealership experience preferred.
• Full UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Residency near Cardiff or commuting ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the workshop team, including 7 Vehicle Technicians and 2/3 Apprentices.
• Oversee daily workshop operations ensuring efficiency and productivity.
• Liaise with Aftersales Manager to implement and maintain best practices.
• Manage customer vehicle progress liaising with service reception.
• Ensure workshop standards adhere to manufacturer and HSO standards.
• Monitor key performance indicators and promote continuous improvement.
• Identify and arrange training needs for team members.
• Effectively allocate work based on team skills and capacity.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.

We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled motor trade professional for the role of Workshop Controller at a flagship franchise dealership in Cardiff, South Wales. Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership in Cardiff, South Wales, is recruiting for a Workshop Controller to lead their busy Service Department. Duties of a Workshop Controller:

Requirements of a Workshop Controller:

• Proven experience in managing a successful automotive workshop for at least three years
• Prior experience within a franchise-approved dealership is highly preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Results-oriented with problem solving and decision-making abilities
• IT literate and familiar with dealership management systems
• Full UK driving licence with minimal points
• Reside within or near Cardiff or be able to commute easily
