Overview

Location: Braintree, Essex
Pay: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent (subject to a 3-month probation period)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

About the Role

A well-established manufacturing company in Braintree is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team. This is a hands-on, full-time position offering long-term stability, excellent pay, and great company benefits. You'll be working in a structural and architectural fabrication environment, contributing to high-quality projects across a range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • MIG welding of mild steel components (3mm - 40mm thickness)
  • Interpreting and working from technical engineering drawings
  • Operating fabrication machinery and equipment
  • Working to execution class 2 welding standards
  • Fabricating bespoke and structural components to specification
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication (preferably in a structural environment)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
  • NVQ, Diploma, or completed Apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication (essential)
  • Familiarity with fabrication machinery and workshop tools
  • Knowledge of CAD is advantageous, but not essential
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious approach
