A leading healthcare service provider in the UK is seeking a qualified Water Systems Maintenance Technician. This role involves ensuring the maintenance and compliance of hot and cold-water systems, conducting legionella risk assessments, and performing various maintenance tasks, including sampling and disinfection. The ideal candidate will have a recognized qualification, experience in the water treatment industry, and strong communication skills. A full driving license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the water treatment industry is essential.
  • Proficiency in applicable legislation (ACoP L8, HTM 0401).
  • Full driving license is required.

Job description
Overview

The Water Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and repair of hot and cold-water systems in accordance with established regulations and standards. This role involves tasks such as collecting water samples, disinfecting storage tanks, servicing TMVs, conducting legionella risk assessments, and removing dead legs. Reports to: Group Portfolio Asset Director.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake maintenance and monitoring tasks on hot and cold-water systems in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG 274, HTM, and Water Regulations.
  • Take water samples and submit to UKAS accredited laboratories.
  • Clean and disinfect cold-water storage tanks.
  • TMV service and fail-safe testing.
  • Carry out legionella risk assessments and reviews.
  • Removal of dead legs.
  • Demonstrate ability to work alone in a multi-site capacity, working to strict quality control systems and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic IT applications (MS Word, Excel) and utilisation of electronic capture systems.
  • Full driving license essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to organise workload in line with the company’s requirements.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in the water treatment industry.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of applicable legislation and guidance material (ACoP L8, HTM 0401, Water Regulations, BS8580).
